In summer 2018, Disney Cruise Line will sail on new itineraries and to new ports, including first-time visits to destinations in Italy and Ireland. Disney Cruise Line takes Guests on a grand tour of Europe with visits to the Mediterranean, northern Europe, Norway and Iceland. Plus, adventures continue with sailings to Alaska, the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

For the first time, Disney Cruise Line Guests can experience more of the rich culture of Barcelona and inspiring history of Rome in a single cruise. In Rome, Guests can explore the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain and the Vatican, and sample authentic local cuisine. Barcelona offers beautiful beaches, the market streets of La Rambla, the artistic architecture of Gaudi and the famed Sagrada Família church.

On June 16, 2018, the Disney Magic will sail a seven-night cruise from Barcelona to Civitavecchia (Rome). Ports of call include Marseilles and Villefranche, France; and Genoa (Milan), Livorno (Florence, Pisa) and Naples, Italy.

On June 23, 2018, the Disney Magic will sail a seven-night itinerary from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Barcelona. Ports visited on this cruise are Naples, Livorno (Florence, Pisa) and Genoa (Milan), Italy; and Cannes and Marseilles, France.

Disney Cruise Line will call on Genoa, Italy for the first time in 2018, as part of three special sailings from Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome). The historic port town of Genoa, located on the Italian Riviera, is a gateway to the beautiful metropolis of Milan and the picturesque locale of Portofino. Milan is a global capital of fashion and design, featuring top-name designer stores, boutiques, open-air markets and art galleries.

A 10-night Mediterranean itinerary sailing from Barcelona on July 7, 2018, calls on Genoa, as well as other popular ports in Italy, France and Spain.

First-time visit to Cork, Ireland and first seven-night British Isles
 
The Disney Magic will call on Cork, Ireland for the first time as part of a first-ever seven-night British Isles cruise, departing on September 2, 2018. Additional ports visited on this sailing include Dublin, Ireland; Greenock, Scotland; and Liverpool, England. Cork is home to a vibrant culinary scene and a plethora of pubs, shops and cafes. It invites visitors to connect with Ireland's ancient past, with historic sites like Blarney Castle, where visitors can kiss the famed Blarney Stone.

Throughout the summer, the Disney Magic will continue to tour Europe with engagements in the Baltic, Norwegian fjords, British Isles and the Mediterranean.

Return to Alaska
 
In 2018, the newly re-imagined Disney Wonder will return to Alaska for the summer season, opening up a world of breathtaking natural vistas, magnificent glaciers and awe-inspiring wildlife. A variety of five-, seven- and nine-night itineraries will depart from Vancouver, Canada, with stops in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point and Tracy Arm Fjord.

In 2018, the Disney Fantasy will embark on a special 11-night southern Caribbean itinerary departing June 30, visiting tropical destinations renowned for beautiful sun-kissed beaches, including Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico and the Disney private island, Castaway Cay.

When should I book my Vacation? ~The Answer

When to book your vacation? Try­ing to fig­ure out the ide­al time to book your vacation and get the best deal is like try­ing to pre­dict a sports score: All you can do is look at the stats and make an educat­ed guess, and that is where a great Travel Agent comes in handy. It is our job to look at the constant changing stats and we are trained, learn from experience, etc when to book a vacation and get the best deals.

More often than not...book EARLY. Most vacations offer early bird specials and with cruise and certain hotels you get to pick the best cabin or room, as you are one of the first to book. Also, when booking with a Travel Agent, and booking early more often than not, if there is a better price before your final payment, we can get the better price.

Sometimes a Travel Agent will tell you to hold off on booking because they are aware of a sale for your particular destination. For example:

For Cruises a big sale blitz happens in late Oc­to­ber and again in Jan­uary and Febru­ary (dur­ing what the cruise in­dus­try calls Wave Sea­son, when many pas­sen­gers tend to plan and book peak-pe­ri­od cruis­es). Spe­cial deals sud­den­ly ap­pear, in­clud­ing for sum­mer itineraries pop­ular with fam­ilies in the Caribbean, as the lines look to get more busi­ness on the books. Best time to go for the best price, depends on your destination: Caribbean would be hurricane season (June to November) but the draw back to that is you may not make ports and there are no refunds if they don't. Alaskan the best rates are the first and last cruises. For the other choices, cruises are usually all in season so the best prices are booking early.  Cruises sometimes offer last minute deals, but with these come draw backs, first the best cabins are gone, second you have to pay in full, and third if you have to fly to make the cruise the price of a last minute flight cost more, usually not saving you much.
 

For all inclusive vacation in the Caribbean or Mexico, book about 11 months in advance. You won't find deals during the most popular time winter break, but you also won't find any rooms if you don't book early. As for the best time to go? For the best deals, book your vacation or the hurricane season (June to November),  which can bring discounted rates up to 60 percent off their high-season counterparts. But, with hurricane season comes risk, be flexible, and buy insurance. Spring and fall offer some discounts (minus spring break, which is an expensive time to go again). Last minute deals can be found for all inclusive but the cost of flights book so close to your vacation often counter any last minute deals.

For Walt Disney World there is a double edge sword, you want to book your vacation at least 185 days in advance, so that at 180 days you can book your dining choices, but if you don't care where you will eat (you don't have a daughter that MUST EAT at Cinderella's Royal Table, or you aren't dying to trying Be Our Guest) then I suggest waiting until a deal comes out before booking your vacation, most deals come out about 90 days in advance. Some deals aren't really deals, for the summer they offer up to 30% off some resorts but that price is still higher than the same room non- discounted in September (but they are still cheaper than booking last minute where you won't get even 30% off). There best deals are usually for the month of September, parts of October, November, and December, with occasionally good deals in parts of January, February and March.

Cruising creates indelible experiences, and I've discovered a few tips and tricks to make sure I get the most out of each trip on the high seas. Here are some things I've learned.

Carry only carry-ons. Bring color-coordinated outfits to pare down your wardrobe and, as a result, your luggage. While fellow passengers wait for bags to be delivered, you,ve already unpacked and are relaxing by the pool.

Spend wisely.  Resist buying extras, such as specialty-restaurant meals; you'll still have a fabulous time. One extra that can be a real value: The ship's family photos are as good or better than what you might get at home-especially on formal nights, when you've dressed up for dinner anyway.

Be selective about shore excursions. You can explore most Caribbean and Alaska port towns on your own, but some high-end-excursions-such as landing on an Alaska glacier-are worth the cost. Ask your travel agent if you can sign up for these before you leave, as popular excursions fill up quickly.

Eat well and stay fit. The food of the crew's nationality is likely to be authentic and tasty. If the chef is Austrian, ask for a Salzburger nockerl souffle for dessert. Keep off extra pounds by using the lavish fitness facilities aboard most modern ships and by using stairs instead of elevators.

Book the right cruise.  Whether you want to see wildlife up close or dance all night in a sequined splendor, work with your travel agent to find the cruise that suits your interests and budget.

Try something new.  Take a dance class; enter the talent contest. Dare to do something you wouldn't do back home.
